Puppy Shower Ideas for a Perfectly Paw-sitive Celebration in 2023

Celebrating the arrival of a new puppy is an exciting event for any family. Whether you’re welcoming a new pup into your own home or hosting a shower for a friend or relative, throwing a puppy shower is the perfect way to ensure the newest member of the family gets a warm welcome. But if you’re not sure where to start planning, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered. Here are some fun puppy shower ideas to make sure your 2023 puppy shower is perfectly paw-sitive!

Invitations

The perfect puppy shower invite should get guests excited for the celebration. Whether you design your own custom invites or purchase pre-made cards, make sure to include the date, time and location of the event, as well as a few details about the puppy – their breed, name, etc. If you’re hosting a virtual puppy shower, be sure to include the link to the online event.

Decorations

Decorations are key to setting the tone for your puppy shower. To really get into the theme, try using paw prints, colorful balloons, and puppy-themed banners. Or, if you’re having a virtual puppy shower, create a fun virtual background like a puppy-themed cartoon or an adorable photo of your own pup. You can also find or create cute puppy-themed cutouts or photo props to add to the fun.

Activities

The activities you include at your puppy shower should get guests excited about the new pup. If you’re hosting an in-person shower, you can create fun puppy-themed games like a scavenger hunt or a puppy bingo. Or if you’re having a virtual shower, you can play trivia about puppies or have a ‘name the pup’ contest. You could also have a puppy photo booth or create a slideshow of photos of the new puppy.

Gifts

When it comes to gifts, there’s no shortage of puppy-themed options. Guests can give items like a cozy bed, a chew toy, a leash and collar, or even a gift certificate to a pet store. Of course, feel free to get creative – you could also give a pup-specific subscription box, a personalized collar, or even a doggy bakery treat.

Food and Drinks

No party is complete without food and drinks! If you’re hosting an in-person shower, you can serve pup-friendly snacks like dog-friendly cupcakes, or you can set up a doggy treat station with a variety of treats for guests and their furry friends. If you’re hosting a virtual shower, you can send your guests dog-themed recipes to make ahead of time, or even a gift card for a pet bakery. And don’t forget the drinks – you can make a signature cocktail like a ‘pup-tini’ or a ‘paw-tini’ to really get your guests in the puppy shower spirit.

No matter how you choose to celebrate the newest addition to your family, these puppy shower ideas will help make sure your 2023 puppy shower is a paw-sitively perfect success!
